Lucas Bergvall has admitted that having a fellow Swede at Tottenham in Dejan Kulusevski will be of major help in settling into his new surroundings.
Bergvall will hope to hit the ground running when he links with the Spurs squad ahead of next season.
Even though he is only 18, the midfielder plays with a lot of maturity and in Ange Postecoglou, he will be working with a coach who is not afraid to trust youngsters.
According to various reports over recent weeks, those at Hotspur Way are quite excited by the teenager’s capture, with the new signing expected to be handed a prominent first-team role next season (Football Insider).
The youngster remarked that he is relieved to put an end to the speculation over his future and focus on his football.
Bergvall told Expressen: “There was a lot going on in my head in general, a lot of speculation on social media and there were many who wondered. It’s nice that everything has settled down now so I can focus only on Djurgarden.”
The midfielder admitted that he plans to utilise Kulusevski’s experience of playing at Spurs and in the Premier League to his advantage when he arrives at Hotspur Way.
When asked about linking up with his compatriot, the youngster responded: “Dejan is an incredibly good footballer but also a warm person. I’ve known him since before, so it’s definitely a security to come there and know that there’s another Swede there. Then you have someone to lean on and ask questions about.”
When asked about his living arrangement in London, Bergvall said: “I will try to get an apartment. One of my parents will move with me for the first few months until I get into it. Then we’ll have to look after it.”

Given the friendly environment in the Tottenham dressing room, Bergvall will find it quite easy to integrate into the squad. The fact that he speaks perfect English should also be of major help in settling in.
