Afternoon Briefing: Chicago AT&T users report outages

Good afternoon, Chicago.

More than 1,700 AT&T users in the Chicago area reported service outages this morning as cellular disruption hit several providers across the U.S., according to data from Downdetector.

The outages, which began at approximately 2:30 a.m., peaked at around 73,000 reported incidents in locations including Chicago, Houston and Atlanta but dropped to about 4,000 by early afternoon. In the Chicago area, users reported about 100 outages as of 1:30 p.m., down from a high of 1,787 at about 8:30 a.m. The carrier has more than 240 million subscribers, the country’s largest.
