ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Nominations are now open for the eighth annual Best New York Burger competition. Each year, the New York Beef Council holds the competition to find the best burger in New York State.
Nominations are being accepted until March 1 and can be made on the New York Beef Council website. Voting will then be from March 6 to April 1, also on the website.
To be eligible, the burgers must be available on the restaurant's regular menu and the restaurant must be open year-round. No previous Best NY Burger final winning burger can be nominated.
On April 3, the Top 10 burgers will be announced, said the New York Beef Council. Judging will take place between April 1 and May 1. The judges will not announced their presence at the restaurant or ask for a free meal. The winner should then be announced on May 1.
In 2023, the Top 10 included two Capital Region restaurants: Chatham Brewing’s “Trowbridge Burger” in Chatham and Illusive Restaurant & Bar’s “The Bougee Burger” in Rensselaer. Syracuse’s Ale 'n Angus Pub was ultimately crowned the winner with their "Bacon Grilled Cheeseburger."
