West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan has hailed Celtic loanee Mikey Johnston as the difference maker in the Baggies’ win against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old is a product of the Celtic academy and Johnston joined West Brom in January in search of regular game time.
Johnston has featured in all five league games since his arrival and on Tuesday, he scored the second goal after coming off the bench against Plymouth.
Going into the game on Tuesday night, Corberan left Johnston on the bench after his start last weekend against Southampton and brought him on in the second half.
Corberan admitted that the Celtic star made the difference coming off the bench against the Argyle.
“The second goal was all about having first-team players to come on and produce a moment like that”, Corberan told West Bromwich Albion’s official site.
“Mikey made a big difference to the result tonight.”
Johnston has registered two goals in five games for West Brom and he will be eager to impress Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers before he returns to Glasgow in the summer.
