Jimmy Presnell and Chelsea Blackwell are the couple that makes it out of "Love Is Blind" season six's messiest love quadrangle. But the drama doesn't stop once they leave the pods.
Initially, Jimmy is torn between Chelsea Blackwell and single mom Jessica Vestal while Chelsea is torn between Jimmy and Trevor Sova, a project manager and Golden retriever of a beefcake who's all in on her from the start.
Ultimately, Jimmy proposes to Chelsea after a contentious breakup with Jess, who warns him that he'll regret not choosing her when he sees her in person. Chelsea breaks the news to a devastated Trevor, who doesn't seem convinced this is a good idea for her. (Same, bro.)
Sure enough, things started to get dicey between Jimmy and Chelsea almost immediately. The first conversation at the reveal goes south when Jimmy tells Chelsea he was about to go home, leading Chelsea to promptly shut down and wonder whether Jimmy felt like she wasn't what he was expecting.
Jimmy also says in a confessional after seeing her in person that Chelsea lied to him about how she looked. (Despite not looking like Megan Fox, he says he still thinks she is gorgeous and is "very" attracted to her.)
Things only got worse during the couples' trip to the Dominican Republic. Chelsea repeatedly questions whether Jimmy is really attracted to her and if he regrets choosing her over Jess. Then, in an extremely problematic and weird moment in episode six, Jimmy tells Chelsea at the couples' meetup on the beach that Amber Desiree "AD" Smith is "stacked." Chelsea initially plays off the comment — even playfully announcing it to the whole group, to Jimmy's embarrassment — but later confesses to him in a tense confrontation in their hotel room that the interaction made her feel "uncomfy."
That argument is quickly swept under the rug, but things don't improve when Jimmy and Chelsea get back to North Carolina. In episode eight, Chelsea's insecurity over whether Jimmy regrets choosing her over Jess persists, rearing its head in a conversation with Chelsea's friends the day they meet Jimmy where she tells them that he saw a picture of Jess the other day and complains that he didn't kiss her once that day.
Later that night, Chelsea and Jimmy talk about the affection and words of affirmation she feels she's missing from him, and her belief that he's still thinking about Jess. Jimmy tells Chelsea she's been clingy, and the conversation devolves from there into a major argument, where Jimmy leaves and Chelsea is in tears.
The next morning, that argument again gets brushed away (sensing a pattern here?) and the two have a perfectly nice time hanging out with Jimmy's two female best friends. But the supertease at the end of episode nine hints that there are both literal and figurative roller coasters ahead for these two.
When Jess shows up at the pod squad barbecue, we see Jimmy confess that he's attracted to Jess and tell her she is still his No. 1. That's followed immediately by a scene where a tearful Chelsea is yelling at Jimmy, "I know you fucked her!" Uh oh.
Things aren't looking great for Jimmy and Chelsea. But here's what we could uncover about their relationship status post-filming.
Despite their nearly constant arguing during the first nine episodes of the season — and whatever the heck is happening between Jimmy and Jess in that new supertease — Jimmy and Chelsea appear to be at least cordial on social media.
They currently follow one another on Instagram and have acknowledged each other there, though not frequently. Jimmy has liked several of Chelsea's posts from December 2023 to, most recently, her January and February 2024 posts hyping up the new season of "Love Is Blind."
Chelsea, however, has only liked two of Jimmy's posts — a photo of him on a bridge in New York City from January, and a shot of himself looking stressed in the pods that he posted on premiere day in February.
Chelsea and Jimmy's relationship status isn't clear, but one thing is: there's no bad blood between Chelsea and Jess. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jess clarified that while she was blindsided and heartbroken over her breakup with Jimmy, she was happy for Chelsea.
Jess shared a clip from the interview on Instagram.
"I love you my sweet Jess," Chelsea commented on the post.
"I love you an insurmountable amount friend. Your happiness > my heartbreak," Jess replied to Chelsea.
The next two episodes of "Love Is Blind" season six will air on February 28.
