BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Several active players from Louisiana will take the field this Major League Baseball season. The state doesn't have an MLB team, but that doesn't mean we're short on homegrown talent.
We have compiled a list of the players from Louisiana who are currently listed on an MLB roster.
Pitchers and catchers recently reported to their camps in preparation for spring training. Spring training will begin Thursday, Feb. 22. Opening Day for the 2024 regular season will be Thursday, March 28, with all 30 major league teams in action.

J.P. France was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Houston Astros drafted France in the 14th round of the 2018 MLB Draft. He attended college at Mississippi State University and is a pitcher for the Astros.
Hogan Harris was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. Harris is currently a pitcher for the Oakland Athletics. The Athletics drafted him in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
