A Fox News pundit was put in the awkward position Tuesday of having to correct former President Donald Trump in front a live audience and viewers across the nation who tuned into his town hall meeting.
Laura Ingraham quizzed the former president at the Greenville Convention Center in South Carolina about what he planned to do about voter fraud in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
"How are you going to make sure that mail-in ballots and voter fraud, which we heard from a lot of people in line was an issue front and center," the anchor asked.
"Big," Trump replied, shaking his head.
"So forget the past," Ingraham said. "What are you going to do to make sure we don't have problems going forward?"
"If you have mail-in voting you automatically have fraud," Trump told the pundit amid resounding cheers.
That's when Ingraham told Trump about Florida, where he beat Biden with 51.2% of the vote.
"Well, there's mail-in voting in Florida," she said. "And you won huge."
The president appearing to perk up to the last part of his victory.
"That's right," he said. "That's right!"
But then he continued to attack those mail-in ballots Ingraham noted likely helped him win the southern state.
"If you have it you're going to have fraud; because you don't have any — when you go into a voting place like you go into one in a properly run state — they look at you, you give voter ID , you give all sorts of identification."
For Trump, there's no substitute for the physical voter punching a vote for their desired candidate.
"I mean it would be very hard to cheat on [sic] a mass scale."
The interaction raised quite a few eyebrows on social media.
"He is so insane," replied Spiro's Ghost. "And self destructive."
Another reader reminded followers that Trump himself uses mail-in ballots.
"Nevermind that mofo votes by mail," AFloridaWoman replied.
