Tottenham’s newest addition Lucas Bergvall set up Djurgardens’ opener in their 2-0 win in the Svenska Cup clash against Skovde on Monday.
There is plenty of excitement about Bergvall at Spurs, with the youngster taking the Swedish Allsvenskan by storm since breaking into the Djurgardens starting eleven last year.
According to reports, the deal Tottenham struck for the 18-year-old last month could rise to £16.4m if certain performance-related add-ons are met (Expressen), with the midfielder set to link up with Ange Postecoglou’s squad before the start of next season.
While it is well documented that Spurs beat Barcelona to the teenager’s signature (Sport), it has also emerged over the last couple of weeks that the Lilywhites saw off competition from Eintracht Frankfurt (BILD) as well as two Premier League sides, Aston Villa and Wolves (Fotboll Direkt), to land the youngster.
Bergvall demonstrated a glimpse of the impact he can make in the final third in the clash against Skovde, making an overlap down the left before picking out Deniz Hummet, who turned the ball home for Djurgardens’ fifth-minute opener.

There is no doubt that Postecoglou will love watching that as these are the sorts of runs that the Australian wants his number eight to make. The Tottenham boss will also be encouraged by the calmness and composure Bergvall showed in picking out his teammate.
