THE Chase fans have been left gasping as they spotted a show star on rival Only Connect.
Footage of Mark Labbett, aka The Beast, appearing on the BBC show in 2009 has gone viral.
The quiz master, now 58, tried his luck at the show with his team who were called Rugby Boys.
But fans are all stunned by Mark’s ageless appearance despite the episode being 15 years old.
Taking to social media, they pointed out how the TV star hasn’t aged.
One said: “Not an ep of #onlyconnect on tonight that aired when I was eight! What are these Greek letters? What is Mark from the chase doing here?”
A second wrote: “I guess this is shortly before Mark joined #TheChase. #OnlyConnect.”
“It’s the #OnlyConnect Champion of Champions show from 2009 tonight. Otherwise known as Mark Labbett’s audition for The Chase,” said a third.
While a fourth commented: “Mark Labbett has hardly aged #onlyconnect.”
Mark’s appearance on Only Connect, which is hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell, was shortly before he shot to fame on The Chase.
He’s been a staple of the ITV show ever since and is known for his epic put-downs.
Mark recently revealed how much he weighs as he flaunted his intense workout routine.
He was also praised by his glam presenter girlfriend Hayley on social media for his hard work.
