Celtic Players Must Answer This Question – Former Top Flight Star

Gordon Dalziel has admitted that the Celtic players now need to prove that they can chase Rangers in the title race for the rest of the season after being the dominant team in Scotland over the last few years.

 

Rangers leapfrogged Celtic to the summit of the Scottish Premiership table this weekend after they beat St. Johnstone following the Bhoys’ only getting a point against Kilmarnock at home.

 

Philippe Clement’s side now have a two-point lead at the top of the league table and have momentum behind them in the final few months of the season.

 

 

 

Celtic fans have been left furious by the players’ performances and Brendan Rodgers and his team have come in for serious criticism.

 

Dalziel admitted that the worry is that the Celtic team are not used to chasing anyone in the title race.

 

 

The former top flight star conceded that they need to prove that they can remain on the coattails of Rangers for the rest of the season.

 

Dalziel said on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard: “This is where the worry comes in from the Celtic side of it.

 

 

“They are going to be the chasers.

 

“Have they got the character, have they got the players and have they got everything about them to do that?

 

“That’s a question they are now getting asked.

 

“It will be interesting to see if they can answer it.”

 

Celtic could be five points behind Rangers by the time they take on Motherwell away from home on Sunday.
