'Air Surrections': Social media tries to name Trump's new golden shoes

Donald Trump recently received some laughter and mockery for his fundraising effort that included putting out a pair of gold high-top sneakers that cost hundreds of dollars, but the fun for the former president's detractors isn't over yet.

Trump's shoes, which go for about $400 and some have said could actually be made in China, could potentially be Trump's latest response to the massive legal judgments he has been getting peppered with in his various court cases.

The shoes are officially dubbed The Never Surrender High-Top Sneakers. But since the ex-president literally did surrender when he turned himself in to authorities to be booked and processed, political experts and other onlookers were happy to suggest names that fit bitter.

Anti-Trump conservative Rick Wilson was one of the first to start the alternate naming trend.

"What do you even call these?" he asked on Saturday, floating three possible new names: “The Adjudicated Rapists” “The Herpetic Clodhoppers” “The Suckers Born Every Minutes."

In the comments to Wilson's post, a lot of users joined in.

"Air Surrections," @TheAzadvocate wrote.

"Fools Gold," added @DJHuntPCG.

Another commenter, @IfICanDream420, included an old throwback from years ago: "Cofefe 6's."

Rhetoric expert, Professor Jennifer Mercieca, chimed in: "Sedition Shoes for your Fascist Feet."

And Wilson wasn't the only one to think of this. In a separate post, Grant Stern wrote, "Name the brand of fake gold on these 10 cent sneakers for MAGA suckers."

That inspired former Trump lawyer and "fixer" Michael Cohen to posit "The Hair Felons."

Some other alternative brand names put forth in the comments on Stern's post are "Grifter's Gaudy Gold," "Golden Shower Shoes," "Sneaky Traitors," and "Bone Spurs." One commenter said, "Golden diapers would have been more on brand."
