Daniel Farke Kept Him Interested, Motivated – Ex-EFL Star Praises Leeds United Boss

Adrian Clarke has stressed that Daniel Farke deserves massive credit for keeping Willy Gnonto motivated throughout the season despite not picking him much in the first half of the campaign.

 

Gnonto has started the last three league games for Leeds and has been sensational, scoring three times and registering one assist.

 

The Italian was reintegrated into the squad after he tried to leave Leeds summer but was a bit part player in the squad until the last couple of weeks.

 

 

 

Clarke has expressed his delight at seeing Gnonto doing well and winning over the fans, but feels Farke deserves part of the credit for the Italian’s form.

 

He stressed that the Leeds manager succeeded in keeping Gnonto motivated and interested throughout the season despite not picking him regularly in the team in the ongoing campaign.

 

 

Clarke said on the What The EFL Podcast: “Daniel Farke had to put his arm around him and sort of, get him over his disappointment of not getting his move and to reintegrate him into the team.

 

“And then, he basically left him out for most of the season because Dan James and Crysencio Summerville have been so sensational.

 

 

“Yet he kept him motivated, brought him on the right times and kept him interested and in the last few games, he has got more game time and he has taken his opportunities.

 

“He was stupendous really and the fans were loving him.”

 

Gnonto will be hoping to start when Leeds take on Plymouth Argyle away from home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
