Hosannah Arrives at Mill Farm
We’re delighted to announce the signing of free agent Bryce Hosannah on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The versatile wing-back originally played for Crystal Palace, before moving to Leeds United in 2017.
He played regularly for the Whites’ Under-23 team and spent time out on loan at Bradford City before his move to the STōK Cae Ras.
Hosannah was the last addition of the ten that Phil Parkinson brought in during the summer of 2021.
After proving his fitness, he had an unusual start to life at Wrexham – picking up a booking in the abandoned match at Aldershot Town.
The wash-out meant the fixture was scrubbed from the record, but the rules meant Hosannah’s yellow card was not.
He officially made his debut for the Club at home to Chesterfield three days later, as a late equaliser from Paul Mullin earned a crucial point.
Hosannah battled with Reece Hall-Johnson for a spot at right wing-back, and also played as left wing-back, with the former Leeds man featuring on 25 occasions.
He got his first goal for the club just before the new year against Altrincham in a 2-0 victory at Moss Rose.
The 24-year-old made nine appearances in the National League last season.
Speaking on the deal Bryce expressed his delight to be joining the Coasters, saying, “I’m delighted to join the club.
“Chris has been a big pull in my decision to join the club, as has the team’s spirit and attitude.
“I’m excited to get going and do everything I can to keep the team in the National League.”
Chris Beech, AFC Fylde Head Coach, added, “Bryce is a player with unbelievable physical capabilities starting out professionally at Leeds Utd where he smashed Biellsa’s pre-season records.
“An excellent defender with attacking intent who fits our profile and DNA.
“Mainly an attacking full-back, who can play either side but prefers the right side and can also operate in many advanced positions.
“He provides healthy competition to the right side of the pitch where defensively, we have been very light in numbers.
“Credit must go to Hayden, Bryce’s agent, who at all times kept me in the loop to enable a player of this quality on very favourable financial terms.
“This also shows Bryce’s character and intent that he would have had bigger financial offers elsewhere. He sees our current trajectory and challenges ahead as something he wants to get involved in.
“A very likeable player both in the dressing room and within Wrexham’s fan base I’m sure he will make an impact here at AFC Fylde.”
