Declan Rice has said following Arsenal’s win over Liverpool that the Gunners need to keep their foot on the gas, naming Tottenham Hotspur as one of the sides which are hot on their heels.
While some Spurs fans might still be dreaming of a potential late title tilt, Tottenham’s performance at Goodison Park on Saturday showed that they are still some way off the best sides in the division.
The Lilywhites have made a habit of conceding late goals this season, which happened again at Everton, with the two dropped points seeing the club slip out of the top four spots.
Arsenal’s win over Liverpool on Sunday ensured that the Reds do not get away from the chasing pack, with the top of the table looking quite congested.
Even Ange Postecoglou’s men sit just seven points behind the league leaders at the moment and Rice believes that Spurs cannot be overlooked from the title race, given the football they are playing.
The Arsenal midfielder told beIN Sports: “Look, I think you have to take it one game at a time. This league is so volatile. It’s up and down and up and down all the time.
“You can move positions. Aston Villa are playing very well. Spurs are playing very well. There’s some really, really good teams in the league this year. It’s one game at a time.”

While there will likely be a few more twists and turns this season, Tottenham’s away performances have simply not been good enough for them to have any hope of keeping pace with the likes of Liverpool and Man City. A top-four finish would represent a successful season for the Lilywhites.
