A DIY pro showed how to make a kids’ version of a charcuterie board for Valentine’s Day by only using Dollar Tree items.
But instead of cheese and meat, the crafter used heart-shaped chocolates and lollipops.
The project can be done with Dollar Tree buys and is perfect for kids[/caption]TikToker Erica Major (@poppinmamadiys) is no stranger to sharing her creative ideas online, garnering a following of 136,000.
The DIYer predicted her fans would “love” her version of a mini charcuterie board.
“I grabbed a plaque from the Dollar Tree and a couple of candies, and I placed it on top of the plaque,” she said.
Then she covered the candies and board with plastic wrap and shrunk it down with a heat gun.
Once the wrap was in place, she finished the project by tying a red ribbon into a bow at the center.
“You can make these in the masses for just a few things from the Dollar Tree,” Erica wrote via Instagram.
“They are incredibly adorable and won’t break the bank,” she added.
For those who wanted more details, Erica added a full-length tutorial in her highlights.
She said the total craft takes five minutes to complete.
Though Erica used a hot glue gun to secure the plastic wrap, it didn’t melt the candies.
“Hold the heat gun about six inches away from the board and then only point towards the wooden edges,” she said.
“Make sure you wave the air back and forth,” Erica added.
One person in the comments section said they made the mini charcuterie board for her son’s preschool class.
“Awww yay,” she responded. “You’re most welcome, love to hear these stories.”
“I did this with the heart-shaped one for my kid’s teacher thanks for sharing,” a second wrote.
“A third person was curious how much you could get if you sold the boards.
“It’ll take about $1 to make it so maybe $8-$10,” Erica answered.
