Prince William eases back into ‘work’ with two tasks after Kate had surgery
Prince William returns to official duties this week after Kate’s hospital surgery.
He will conduct an investiture at Windsor Castle on Wednesday and will also attend the London Air Ambulance annual fundraising gala in the evening.
William was last seen in public leaving the London Clinic where Kate was being treated on January 18.
He had temporarily stepped back from his royal role to juggle caring for his wife and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Kate was admitted to the hospital where she spent time recovering from a successful procedure to her abdomen.
She finally returned home last week after spending 13 days in hospital.
Kensington Palace confirmed she will be continuing the recovery from the ‘successful’ abdominal surgery at home in Windsor.
‘The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress,’ a Palace spokesperson said at the time.
‘The prince and princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.
‘The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world.’
Based on current medical advice it is unlikely that she will return to public duties until after Easter.
The Palace did not reveal what she was treated for but said that the condition was non-cancerous and Kate wanted her medical information to remain private.
King Charles also underwent an operation for an enlarged prostate.
He will not carry out any royal duties for one month.
Camilla said her husband was ‘doing his best’ following his release from hospital.
