LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- If you have a nonprofit organization in need of funds, the campaign for the 2024 SOLA Giving Day is under way.
SOLA Giving Day is an event of Community Foundation of Acadiana offered to 501(c)3 nonprofits, churches and schools in South Louisiana. It is a spring fundraising campaign that spans eight weeks and culminates with 24 hours of giving on Thursday, May 2.
Registration for the seventh annual SOLA Giving Day, which will be held on May 2, opens today for any nonprofit, church or school that would like to participate. Registration will remain open through March 7.
A registration webinar will be offered Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. to assist nonprofits through the registration process. For more information about SOLA Giving Day and how to register for the training and the event, visit SolaGivingDay.org.
During the 24-hour giving period, the general public can make tax-deductible donations to organizations of their choice online by visiting SOLAGivingDay.org. In 2023, the South Louisiana community raised over $1.8 million through SOLA Giving Day.
The event’s purpose is to assist organizations in raising funds for a specific project or program. SOLA Giving Day provides an easy and inexpensive way for organizations to promote funding needs and continue fundraising efforts online. The goal of SOLA Giving Day is to inspire the community to come together to contribute as many charitable dollars as possible to the participating organizations.
Since its inception in 2018, SOLA Giving Day generated over $8.47 million in donations to more than 425 unique nonprofit organizations, churches and schools that serve South Louisiana.
