Tulane serves the first road non-conference game for K-State since 2017. It is important to note K-State's meeting with Arizona will serve as a non-conference game, too. The battle of Wildcats was scheduled before Arizona decided to join the Big 12 and therefore will not be part of the league slate.
The 2024 Big 12 Championship will be held on Dec. 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Wildcats will have to replace team captains in quarterback Will Howard and safety Kobe Savage, who both entered the transfer portal. Plus, the 'Cats will be led by a nearly brand new offensive line after consensus All-American Cooper Beebe and multiple others either exhausted their eligibility or announced plans to go pro.
The team will also have new offensive leaders in Conor Riley and Matt Wells after former K-State offensive coordinator Collin Klein took a job with an SEC school. K-State won its first game with the Avery Johnson and Conor Riley tandem working together, in the 2023 Pop-Tarts Bowl.
