TIKTOK star Mahek Bukhari was sentenced to 31 years and eight months in jail for her role in the deaths of two men.
But who is her father Raza Ali?
Raza Ali is the father of Mahek and husband of Ansreen Bukhari.
Prior to the trial, it is believed he used to work as a security officer for different businesses.
Raza has kept a low profile and has stayed out of the public eye as he was not involved in the case.
Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin and his friend Saqib Hussain died when the car they were driving was deliberately rammed off the road in February 11, 2022.
They had been travelling on the A46, near Leicester, when they were murdered as part of a revenge plot after Hussain threatened to reveal his affair with Mahek’s married mum Ansreen.
Hussain was lured to a Tesco car park under the pretence that Mrs Bukhari was returning £3,000 he had spent on their affair.
However, it was a trap set by Mahek in a bid to delete any evidence of the affair from his phone and online backup folders.
When Saqib and Hashim arrived at the meeting location, they quickly realised something was off and fled seconds later.
Their car was chased by two cars and “rammed off the road”.
Mahek, her mum and six others were later arrested and put on trial for their murders.
A verdict found Mahek and Ansreen Bukhari guilty of two counts of murder.
Fellow defendants Rekhan Karwan and Raees Jamal were also found guilty of two counts of murder – while Natasha Akhtar, Ameer Jamal and Sanaf Gulamustafa were all found guilty of two counts of manslaughter.
One man was cleared of all charges.
Nothing has happened to Raza Ali as he was not involved in the case.
His name was brought up by Ansreen when she explained why she had failed to mention her relationship with Saqib after being charged with the murders.
She said: “Because it was too embarrassing.” She said she was “scared of wrecking [her] marriage”.
She also mentioned to barrister Patrick Upward KC that Raza did not visit her in jail for 10 months after she was arrested at their family home.
The murder trial was also told he had “no idea about his wife’s affair” with Hussain until after she and Mahek were arrested.
Ansreen also said how he knew everything about her affair with Saqib.
A statement from Ali was read to the court.
He told police he did not know about the affair his wife was having – but he did recall someone with the name Saqib contacting him on social media.
“I do recall that about four or five months ago I received a message on my TikTok account,” he said.
“Someone put a comment that said something about my wife having an affair. I never told my wife about it – I assumed it was just nonsense. I think ‘Saqib’ was the name or part of the name of the account.”
He said he noticed the ‘Saqib’ user had no followers, which made him believe it was simply just a “fake account”.
