I had a really cute work outfit until my pants split on the Uber in – it was in a bad place but my ‘scarf kilt’ saved me
A PROFESSIONAL woman felt she had it all going on with her cute work outfit.
But when her pants split in the Uber on her commute, she wanted the ground to swallow her up.
The opening was in the worst of places and she had to think double quick to cover this gaping hole.
Fortunately, she had an item that would assist this epic wardrobe fail.
Hannah Bronfman (@hannahbronfman) was saved by her “scarf kilt.”
An author, activist, and mom, she’s used to thinking on her feet, and this was no exception.
She explained the drama in her post. She looked super-stylish with a loose white blouse, worn over edgy leather pants, and some casual sneakers.
“So I got dressed and thought I had a really cute outfit on until I got into my Uber to go to work,” she said.
She was about to experience a fashion howler. “BAM! I split my leather pants.”
Hannah showed the extent of this fashion fail, and it was pretty extensive.
“I should have known something was up when the button popped off,” she said. “And this is the first time I’ve worn these I might add.”
It was time for some styling ingenuity to cope with this crisis.
“So now I have to wrap a f*cking scarf around my waist to go to the bathroom. But luckily no one is in the office on Fridays.”
She still looked stylish, though: “I walked through an entire lunch meeting with my ‘kilt’ on.
“But you know what, at least I wore a long coat today. Thank God it’s Friday,” she said gratefully.
Some commenters said they just would not have coped.
“The workday would be over for me,” said this person.
There was a helpful suggestion from this viewer: “Store a pair of leggings in your desk drawer for spills, rips, etc. I’ve learned the hard way.”
