A MAJOR motors firm will debut its all-electric people carrier in the UK.
The London Electric Vehicle Company’s L380 MPV EV will celebrate its wildly anticipated launch in the United Kingdom in 2026.
LEVC became a household name after the company electrified London’s black cabs back in 2017.
The EV taxis also boasted new features in wheelchair accessibility, on-board wifi, charging ports, a more spacious cabin with six seats, wide opening rear hinged doors, contactless card machines and an expansive panoramic roof.
Following on from that success, the manufacturer’s L380 will come complete in three, six, or eight-seat configurations.
Meanwhile, swirling rumours have speculated that the people carriers will feature a 268bhp electric motor which drives the front wheels, while a 120kWh battery could provide around 400 miles of range.
However, more details are likely to be disclosed as the months and years pass.
Alex Nan, LEVC boss, said: “We aim to have a presence in over 40 countries in the coming years, with multiple new models based on the SOA platform leading the way.
“L380 is the first demonstration of the future vision for LEVC, launching the business into an entirely new sector.”
It comes as one of the company’s luxury black cabs hit the market for £141,000 last year.
Celebs like Noel Edmonds, Stephen Fry and Kate Moss have all driven taxis over the years, favouring the anonymity they provide in London.
And the LEVC is no different, outwardly appearing identical to a standard cab, with the exception of the specialist rear numberplate and the optional removal of the yellow light on the front.
The interior is kitted out in plush cream leather, with seats more reminiscent of a private jet than your average city runabout.
Depending on your choice you can plump for footrests, folding tables and cupholders.
All packages, though, come with a 20-inch “media screen” equipped with Apple TV.
