The happy couple chose a very special middle name for their daughter, as a tribute to Jeremy’s late mother, Nanette.
He explained: “My late parents would adore the whole thing. They were very family oriented.
“Iris’ middle name Rose is in tribute to my mum, as that was her favourite flower. My mother would love it.
“My parents were everything to me and I lost them within six years.
“My dad died in my arms. I’ll think about them at the birth, but that’s life. You have to crack on. I try to remember how they did things.”
Jeremy previously shared that his father Patrick gave him some important advice in his final days.
The TV legend stated: “He gave me some fantastic advice, and he listened, and he was proud of me, so I want to make him proud again by going back to work and moving forwards with my life.
“Dad also taught me to be bold and stand by what I believe — he didn’t mind railing against other people’s opinions.”
Vicky had a planned caesarean following the difficult birth of son Oliver and welcomed Iris at 12.31pm on January 26, weighing 7lbs 6oz.
Proud dad Jeremy told The Sun: “Mum and baby are doing great.”
He added: “Oliver’s birth was difficult for Vicky four years ago, so it meant this time around had to be more planned.
“Honestly though, we’re so lucky. Think about those people who spend their lives not being able to have kids. We’re very blessed.”
