WITH her strands in distress, one hair wizard took emergency action to save her long locks.
Her bleached-out mane was now more majestic and healthier than ever with her five-ingredient DIY mask.
“Let me show you how to make the best all-natural protein hair mask,” said Ariba Pervaiz (@ariba_p).
The mane-enhancing hair master got started by adding half a cup of mayonnaise to her blender.
“All of the oils in the mayo are basically going to be a deep conditioner,” she explained.
She then shared her most potent protein product: one whole avocado.
Rather than stabbing the seed out, she advised popping it through the back.
She especially credited the amino and vitamin-rich fruit with reversing years of damage and contributing to rapid hair growth results.
“Anytime you bleach your hair like I do you’re pulling protein out of your hair and the avocado is going to put that protein back in,” she said.
Ariba admitted that adding an egg might seem unpleasant, but it was all in the name of hair health.
“Nothing says protein like an egg. I know it feels icky putting it in your hair but once it’s all blended together you won’t even know it’s in there.”
Next, she added some honey.
It might be sweet but it was also going to add strength with all of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that are beneficial for the scalp.
She explained how just a couple of teaspoons would do the hair-taming trick.
Ariba then added two tablespoons of coconut oil to her magic hair growth mixture.
“This is going to replenish and hydrate your hair from the inside out. It’s one of my favorite oils for your hair,” she said.
The ingredient is also known for its strengthening and thickening qualities.
She was now ready to blend up her anti-breakage mix.
“Look how gorgeous that texture is, oh my God,” she said in disbelief.
The hair-strengthening sorceress explained how she used the mask in the shower right after shampooing – from roots to ends – to make sure that it was applied to clean damp hair.
It also added some relief during the dry season.
“I’m going to make sure that I get it all over my scalp because it’s wintertime and I’ve been so itchy.”
She advised leaving the mix in your hair for at least ten minutes before rinsing it out.
“Yes, heal me,” she said as she waited for the treatment to transform her mane.
The time had come to reveal her results which spoke for spoke for themselves as she showed off a thick head of wavy hair.
“It feels so much softer it feels stronger. If I’m going to keep this color going I’ve gotta keep it nourished,” she explained.
Her fans were already sharing their own strengthening results.
“Well, I can tell you today I used honey, avocado oil, a little bit of coconut oil, and one egg and my curls are really curly today,” said one enthused follower.
“Beautiful,” said another impressed viewer.
Others had questions of their own.
“Do you shampoo again to wash it out?” asked a curious watcher.
“You can shampoo if you feel you need to,” she replied.
According to Medical News Today, egg yolks contain protein which may be nourishing and shine-promoting.
The yolk is also high in fat, creating hair softness while a specific fat known as lecithin could help to moisturize the hair and is found in numerous cosmetic hair products.
