Gray, mild start to weekend, wintry mix Sunday
Cloudy skies persist, even as an area of high pressure settles in over the Great Lakes. Fog will return overnight, thicker in the northwest, and morning readings will drift down to the upper 30s.
Another low-pressure system will move from the Southern States to the Ohio Valley late Saturday, before a coastal storm takes over on Sunday.
Rain will develop Saturday evening, but as marginally cold air is drawn southward, rain will change to wet snow Sunday morning west of the I-71 corridor, where minor accumulations are likely well north and west of Columbus. Snow showers will linger in the afternoon, with readings in the mid- to upper 30s, so roads will be wet.
Next week will start off dry and seasonable, with mostly cloudy skies. Highs will start off in the upper 30s Monday and low 40s Tuesday. A fast-moving system dropping southeast will bring a chance for rain showers late Tuesday, likely changing to wet snow overnight into Wednesday morning.
The weather will moderate into the 40s, after a chilly start next week. A clipper system will bring some rain showers later on Tuesday, mixing with snow overnight before ending as flurries early Wednesday.
