‘Good option’ – Club Brugge manager speaks openly about Tottenham’s interest in Nusa
Club Brugge manager Ronny Deila has now said that it would be a ‘good option’ for Antonio Nusa to join Tottenham and then remain with the Belgian side on loan until the end of the season.
There is a lot of excitement around Nusa in Belgian football as well as his native Norway, with the 18-year-old being the sort of player who gets fans off their seat whenever he gets the ball.
He now looks on course to be the latest exciting young talent to join Ange Postecoglou’s project in North London, with various outlets reporting that Tottenham are close to striking a deal for the winger.
This includes an update by TEAMtalk on Wednesday afternoon, which claimed that Spurs are hopeful of finalising a £26m deal for the teenager shortly.
The report explained that Nusa had made it clear to Tottenham that he wants to stay at Brugge until the end of the season, with the Premier League side thought to have greenlit such an arrangement.

Deila himself has now spoken about the winger’s future and about the idea of moving to Tottenham this month.
The Brugge boss suggested that Nusa does not want to depart the club right now and is focused on doing well at the Jan Breydel Stadium for the time being.
When asked about the reports that Spurs will sign the teenager and loan him back to the Belgian side, Deila told HNL: “It could be a good option for him. You shouldn’t forget that we are working on our season here. I don’t think he’ll leave now. He wants to stay and we want that too – he is an important player. There is of course a lot of interest.
“If it doesn’t happen now, it will be this summer. The most important thing is that he stays focused and wants to get better. I think he’s handling it well, because he’s still young. Now a decision has to be made and he has to do the best he can for us. I hope and think we will keep him until June. And then he will be even more ready to go.”

The one thing that seems clear is that Nusa will be loaned back to Brugge until the summer even if Tottenham do manage to agree a deal for him. One would hope that the Premier League side can sort out the transfer over the coming days, particularly since the 18-year-old appears keen on the move.
