I’ve been fake tanning for 10 years and have tested all the expensive brands but a £3 bottle from Savers is the best
WE’VE all been the victims of streaky fake tan; nothing’s worse than the tea-mug style ring forming around the inside of your elbow.
Luckily, self tanning products have been in mainstream circulation for around 20 years now, so there’s been a lot of development in formulas.
And Annie Hirst, who has been using bronze-infused mousses and lotions for over 10 years, has tried them all.
From mousses and lotions to sprays and “tanning water”, she shared her top products for looking like you’ve just spent two weeks in the Maldives.
And one of her favourite products is a £3 cult classic.
Taking to TikTok, Annie raved about one mousse that was most Britons’ first experience with fake tan – St Moriz.
One bottle will set you back just £3.49 in Savers, with Annie saying that the colour and price are “chef’s kiss”.
“St Moriz is definitely the one,” Raven Ridley affirmed in the comments.
“St Moriz has been my favourite for years and it’s so cheap,” Holly Macmillan added.
The beauty brand was founded in 2007 by a “savvy team of self-tan addicts” who wanted to produce a professional formula with an affordable price.

Annie also recommended the £21 tanning mousse Molly-Mae Hague’s fake tan brand, Filter.
“Miss Molly really did something here,” she penned.
“People have genuinely asked me if I’m Spanish or Mediterranean when I wear this.”
Lover Island alum Molly-Mae launched Filter in 2019, “to revolutionise the way we tan”.

The products Annie stays away from include Bondi Sands’ £17 Ultra Dark Tanning Mousse, because it turns her green, and the £14.95 bBold Super Liquid, because it “didn’t show up much” on her skin.
