Manchester City have been handed an injury boost ahead of the FA Cup showdown with Tottenham, with Manchester Evening News reporting that John Stones is now back in training.
Spurs host the Premier League champions in the FA Cup fourth-round clash on Friday, with Pep Guardiola’s men not having happy memories of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
City have lost all of their five previous visits to the ground and have failed to score a single goal at the venue but they will perhaps fancy their chances of ending that record, given the high-risk approach that Ange Postecoglou’s men employ.
MEN have now revealed that the Manchester club could be boosted by the return of Stones for the big clash.
The report explains that Man City are now in a warm-weather training camp in Abu Dhabi during their winter break, with the England centre-back said to have joined his teammates for the group sessions over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Tottenham could themselves be handed a double injury boost, with The Telegraph reporting last week that both James Maddison and Manor Solomon could be fit for the FA Cup clash.
Spurs Web Opinion
Stones’ return certainly makes City a lot stronger defensively, particularly with Ruben Dias not being in the best of form this season. While it is impossible to predict the result on Friday, it certainly promises to be an exciting game, with both teams certain to play on the front foot.
