The Athletic have revealed that Leeds United expect Tottenham Hotspur to demand more than £15m for Joe Rodon, given the centre-back’s impressive displays this season.
Rodon has been a spectacular success at Elland Road this season, having hardly put a foot wrong since his loan move to the club last summer.
Daniel Farke himself confirmed a few days ago that the Championship club have begun work behind the scenes on signing the 26-year-old permanently but he did not provide too much more detail on the matter (TEAMtalk).
The Athletic have now shed light on Leeds’ stance on Rodon and the various factors that the club would have to take into account before pushing ahead with a move for the player.
The report says that many at the club view the Tottenham man as their best loan signing since Ben White, but the Wales international is not expected to come cheap.
It is explained that Leeds were quoted a price of £15m for Rodon by Spurs last summer and that the asking price is expected to have increased in light of the centre-back’s impressive displays.
The report explains that Farke’s men would not only have to take into account their chances of winning promotion before they spend big on the defender but they would also have to assess if the former Swansea man could thrive in the Premier League if they do make the step up.

There is likely to be quite a bit of interest in Rodon’s services from Premier League sides at the end of the season, which is why Leeds would want to conclude a deal for the Welshman before the summer.
However, the 26-year-old might also not be in a hurry to commit his future to Farke’s men and might want to wait and see if they bounce straight back up to the top flight.
