‘I choose Shein instead now’ people claim as shopper fumes she ‘doesn’t know what’s going on’ with Primark’s prices
A WOMAN has been left horrified after a recent shopping trip to Primark.
The woman, who is known online as ‘Locoify’ and lives in the UK, explained that she couldn’t believe her eyes at the prices of the winter clothes.
Whilst taking a look round the high-street chain in Manchester, the fashion fan added that she found items that were similar prices to clothing from Zara.
Stunned at her finds, the woman took to social media to alert other shoppers.
In a clip captioned ‘Recession?’, the shopper took her followers around the Manchester store, showing off the price tags on many of the winter items, as she asked: “What happened with Primark prices?”
She then swiped: “Don’t dare tell me it’s better quality. It’s certainly not the case.”
The first item she spotted was a grey roll neck jumper, priced at £19.
Shortly after, she found a striped jumper for £17.
She then saw a cardigan style coat, priced at £20 and a furry cardigan for £15.
But that’s not all, as the Primark shopper was then baffled when she found a winter shacket, priced at £30.
Gobsmacked at her finds, she explained: “PJs are over £40, that’s insane.
“I really don’t know what is going on. I couldn’t believe my eyes.
“[It’s] even close to Zara [prices].”
She then claimed: “It’s not normal! Last year everything was at least 50% cheaper in Primark!”
Following this, the horrified woman joked: “Primani thinks he’s Armani.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @locoify, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a staggering 688,600 views.
Many social media users admitted that they too were shocked at Primark’s prices, which many took to the comments to express.
One person said: “Primark is just not Primarking anymore…”
Another added: “Prices went up and quality went down.”
A third commented: “Shocking isn’t it. I got 4 items last week for £64. Was not impressed.”
At the same time, many shoppers admitted to shopping on Shein instead.
One fashionista claimed: “SHEIN for me everytime now, might have to wait for order to arrive but the quality is amazing not to mention the prices.”
A second chimed in: “I choose Shein over Primark now, their prices are a joke.”
Whilst someone else wrote:“I shop in SHEIN all the time and they’ve actually got lots of Primark dupes for half the price.”
But not only this, others explained that they too prefer to go to other high-street chains to get their clothes.
One fashion fan expressed: “Rather spend it in River Island.”
Whilst another claimed: “I find H&M cheaper at the moment.”
