A woman was arrested for attempting to rob a sandwich shop in Cromwell on Sunday while reportedly armed with a knife, police said.
Officers were called to D’Angelo’s Grilled Sandwiches at 34 Shunpike Road in Cromwell for reports of an armed robbery in progress, according to the Cromwell Police Department.
An employee and a customer had contacted police and reported that there was a woman inside the store armed with a knife, police said.
According to police, officers arrived within seconds of the calls and surrounded the building. Officers ordered the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Holly Scovill of Cromwell, out of the building and placed her under arrest, police said.
Scovill was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree threatening, carrying a dangerous weapon, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny and second-degree breach of peace. She is being held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Middletown Superior Court on Monday, according to police.
