A small owl was rescued from a home in West Hartford last week.
On Jan. 18, police, an animal control officer and a local wildlife rehabilitation center rescued a screech owl that had made his way into a house in West Hartford, police said.
“The owl was safely captured and has been rehabilitated by the rescue,” the West Hartford Police Department said in a post on Facebook, paired with photos of the owl in transit and sitting on top of a stack of games in a book shelf.
The owl was being helped by A Place Called Hope, a center based in Killingworth that helps protect and rehabilitate birds of prey.
As of Sunday, the owl was doing well and was set to be released into the wild soon, police said.
