Coronation Street finally reveals what’s really wrong with Joseph Brown in upsetting scenes
CORONATION Street has finally revealed what’s wrong with Joseph Brown – and it’s good news for Gemma Winter.
The youngster has been complaining of being ill for months but doctors have insisted he is absolutely fine.
Social services were even called over suspicions stepmum Gemma had been poisoning him for attention after suffering a breakdown.
And while Gemma protested her innocence, she was banned from being alone with Joseph or any of her own four children.
In tonight’s episode Joseph collapsed at home after being sent home from school for being unwell.
With Joseph’s grandmother Linda sticking her nose in and trying to convince Chesney that Gemma had been deliberately harming Joseph, they both missed the signs of Joseph being seriously ill.
And when Gemma vented to Dr Gaddas in the pub about how long Joseph has been ill for, her noting that it happened after he went camping had the doctor intrigued.
So when Gemma got the call about Joseph being rushed to hospital, Dr Gaddas went with her and shared her thoughts with the doctor treating him.
She thought that Joseph may have Lyme disease – and tests proved her theory correct.
The diagnosis came just after Linda accused Gemma of hurting Joseph – leaving her eating her own words.
“I’m sorry Gem,” Chesney said as they sat by Joseph’s bedside. “I should’ve believed you.”
But she hit back: “You made me think I was going mad. You made Joseph think I was going mad too when all the time he was really ill.
“You thought I was putting thoughts in his head, making him think he was ill when he wasn’t. But he was.
