I scooped £40k on a 25p bingo game – I almost missed out after doing household chores… and froze when I realised
A WOMAN was so busy doing household chores she almost lost a fortune on a bingo game – but luckily spotted her winning ticket before it was too late.
Mum-of-two Leah, 33, was in disbelief when she checked the result of her 25p bingo ticket and it showed her she had won almost £40k.
Playing on meccabingo.com, the ecstatic mum said she indulges in online games for a bit of “me-time” while she looks after her two daughters.
Based in Hull, Leah bought a ticket for the Emoji bingo game last Friday (Jan 5) and let it run in the background while she got her daily chores out the way.
But upon hearing the game come to its end, she had a quick look at the results and was gobsmacked when seeing all 10 of her chosen emojis characters lined up, reports the Hull Daily Mail.
Initially she thought she had only won the house prize, but after a second take she clocked that she had banked the premiere jackpot of £39,520 – which could be considered to be a life-changing win.
Over the moon with her bingo results, the young mum grabbed her two daughters – aged three and four – to celebrate her victory.
Leah said: “I still can’t believe I’ve won.
“I had the game running in the background as I never in a million years thought I’d win the jackpot prize, but I did.
“When I saw my name on the screen I froze, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
Speaking on how she’ll spend her winnings, the doting-mum said new lego for her little ones is high on the list, as well as a family meal to celebrate.
But that’s not the only thing on the lucky winner’s mind.
Leah, added: “It’s been an incredible way to start the year and I can’t wait to celebrate with my friends and family with a big holiday abroad. I can’t thank the Mecca Bingo team enough!”
Leah is not the only person who has caught a bit of financial luck in recent months, as this woman netted a cool £86K from a lottery ticket she found during a cleanup of her home.
