Former Spurs star spotted among fans in the away end against Manchester United

Danny Rose may have left Tottenham Hotspur back in 2021, but he still holds the club dear to his heart. So much so, that he made the trip to Manchester at the weekend to see his old side take on the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Having signed for Spurs way back in 2007 from Leeds United, Rose spent plenty of time out on loan throughout his career, but always came back to North London. He would eventually go on to establish himself as a key player in the Mauricio Pochettino era.

213 appearances, nine goals, and 29 assists later (Transfermarkt), Rose would go down as the left-back Spurs just weren’t able to replace for the last few years. Now, of course, Destiny Udogie appears to have finally solved that problem.

Rose has previously spoken about how he nearly moved across London to one of Tottenham’s biggest rivals and how he wouldn’t be allowed back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if he had (talkSPORT).

Luckily, he never made that switch and he’s now a welcome face whenever he is spotted watching the Lilywhites. And journalist Sean Walsh revealed Rose was indeed in attendance at Old Trafford on Sunday to see his old side battle to a 2-2 draw.

Walsh tweeted: “Danny Rose was sat with the Tottenham fans at Old Trafford for this afternoon’s game!”

What a game to watch, too, with United twice taking the lead, and Ange Postecoglou‘s side clawing their way back on both occasions to take a point away from the fixture.

I think if I was a retired player, I would be attending games left, right, and centre, especially if I was as attached to a club as much as someone like Rose is to Tottenham. It would be great to enjoy the beautiful game from a fan’s perspective after so many years competing on the pitch.
