Each week on “The Pit Stop,” Trixie Mattel recaps the latest episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season 16 alongside a guest host. Following Friday’s second episode, YouTube personality and Trixie’s friend of 17 years Brittany Broski sat down to celebrate their love of drag by critiquing the seven queens that introduced themselves to the world this week. In their recap of the episode, Trixie and Brittany liked Geneva Karr‘s entrance look, but were confused over whether her name is intended to be a pun or not and appreciated her pride in being a leg hair artist on the internet. When it came to the divisive Plane Jane, they both lived for her first impression look and think that only someone that looks that good could come in guns blazing. The queen they did not live for is Megami. Though Jane gave them their favorite entrance look, following the SheMV photo shoot mini challenge Nymphia Wind joined her as the initial standouts.
Both Brittany and Trixie appreciate having a talent show as the first challenge of the season because it gives the queens a chance to introduce their brand to the audience. From the past, Brittany sees Willow Pill as a standard of unexpected excellence and Trixie appreciates Thorgy Thor‘s violin playing followed by a one-handed cartwheel. This season they really loved Nymphia’s Taiwanese dance, but were disappointed in Plasma‘s idling performance, confused by the appeal of Jane’s “burger fingers” number despite RuPaul Charles being obsessed with it, and fully didn’t understand why the numbers from Hershii LiqCour-Jeté and Megami went nowhere. When it came to the Rate-A-Queen twist, Brittany is excited of the “added texture” that will hopefully lead to more fights this season because she really wants to see Jane get yelled at.
