ARE you a culprit of a common airport habit that one passenger called “infuriating”?
Comedian Anna Dooley has slammed people who stand too close to the baggage carousel at airports.
Comedian Anna Dooley posted this picture of people standing next to the baggage carousel in Australia[/caption]She and other travellers say it blocks others from being able to see and collect their luggage.
She wrote on Instagram: “Next time you’re thinking about procreating, you could be creating one of these.”
Anna uploaded her blunt comment along with pictures of travellers waiting right up against the conveyor belt at an Australian airport.
Her posts sparked a fierce debate on social media with one experienced traveller calling it “infuriating”.
One user said: “Probably the same people who stand up and block the aisle the minute the plane stops even though they are 40 rows back.”
“Another reason why I refuse to check a bag,” a person added.
Someone noted that airports should have a clearer system which prevents people from standing in the way.
“There should be an enforced 1.5m exclusion zone that you cannot enter until your bag is visible, and within range,” they said.
One person jokingly wrote: “Wouldn’t matter to me because mine is ALWAYS the last bag for whatever reason.”
However, not everyone has a problem with people standing too close to the carousel.
One person asked: “Am I the only one that sees no wrong in this?”
A second wrote: “The carousel is usually long enough for everyone to spread out.
“Just like everywhere else, first there gets the best spot.”
“Most baggage claims are like 100 feet in circumference.
“Just find a spot where no one is standing,” another agreed.
It comes after an anonymous user took to Reddit to vent his frustrations about passengers who swarm the gates before their seats called.
