Look inside a $3,500 deluxe ocean-view stateroom on the Disney Magic that comfortably fit 3 adults for 5 nights

When I walked into our stateroom I was surprised at how large it felt — even though it was just under 270 square feet, including the veranda.

There was a large closet with Disney Cruise Line (DCL) robes hanging inside, along with a few hangers and our life vests.

After seeing there weren't enough hangers for the three of us, we asked our room steward for a few more.

The drawers next to the closet were great for storing T-shirts and shorts that didn't need to be hung up. All of us would also put our room key on top of the dresser after we entered our room so we'd know where it was at all times.

On top of the drawers was a set of four water glasses and two wine glasses. I appreciated that there were wine glasses already in our room because DCL allows each guest to bring two bottles of wine on board.

As a Disney fan, I also loved that there was a large photo of Walt Disney and his wife, Lillian, above the glasses.

One of the best things about our room was the comfortable bed.

I loved the decorative throw blanket with its anchors and the DCL emblem. But the best part was that it was raised off the ground, so we could easily store our bags until it was time to pack up again.

The bed was flanked by two nightstands that each had a small drawer, which was great for storing charging cords and glasses.

In front of the bed, there was a set of drawers where we were able to store things like swimsuits and underwear.

One of the big draws for families, mine included, on DCL is the split bathrooms.

In one room, we had a toilet, a sink with a well-lit mirror, and a small set of shelves for storage.

We weren't traveling with kids, but I understand that a tub may be necessary for some families.

There were also complimentary toiletry products in both bathrooms.

Between the main bed and the couch (which also converts into a bed), there was a large curtain.

Since I slept on the couch, the curtain was great to give everyone a bit of privacy. It was nice for me because my parents like to leave the TV on when they fall asleep. The curtain blocked out the light.

We also used the curtain when getting ready in the morning. It gave everyone space to get dressed outside of the small bathrooms.

The convertible couch is a bit small for a bed, but it worked for me.

Each night, our room steward would convert the couch into a bed for me to sleep on. In the morning, after we left our room for breakfast, it would be turned back into a couch.

Above the couch was a piece of artwork depicting the sheet music for "The Second Star to the Right" from "Peter Pan."

In front of the couch, there was an oval-shaped coffee table. My family and I mainly used it to share snacks after our day at Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Caribbean.

There was also a vanity with multiple drawers and a stool. The stool was able to be tucked in under the vanity so it was never in the way.

The well-lit mirror that hung over the vanity was great to use for putting on makeup or rubbing in sunscreen before heading to the pool.

Just outside the sliding glass door was our large private veranda overlooking the ocean.

There were two chairs and a small table. Since there were three of us, one person would often be left sitting on the vanity stool or standing outside.

The dividers on either side could be opened up if my family had booked two staterooms next to each other, making it one big open area.

There was also plexiglass between the railings to prevent losing items.

Even though veranda rooms are more expensive than interior rooms, the additional space was worth it for us.

I didn't find the Disney touches to be overbearing, and our room steward was helpful with our needs.

I'd definitely book this type of room again for the veranda, ample storage, and split bathroom.
