L’Equipe have claimed that Sergio Reguilon is now close to joining Brentford on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Reguilon did reasonably well at Man Utd in his limited opportunities, proving an able cover for Luka Shaw but the Red Devils decided to end his spell at the club mid-season.
The left-back is seemingly not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans and if reports over the last 24 hours are to be believed, the Spaniard could end up completing a temporary switch to the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Daily Mail claimed on Saturday that Brentford are locked in talks with Spurs regarding a loan deal for Regulion at the minute.
The report stated that Thomas Frank is keen on bringing a left-back through the door and that the Tottenham man is one of the players that the West London club are eyeing.
L’Equipe have now gone one step further, asserting that the Bees are now ‘well placed’ to land the 27-year-old on loan.
The publication reports that Brentford are now ‘on the verge’ of signing former Sevilla star on a six-month loan deal.
Spurs Web Opinion
This would be a decent switch for Reguilon, who would believe that he is likely to get more game time with the Bees than he did at Old Trafford. The move would be beneficial to Spurs as it could potentially bump up the left-back’s price ahead of next summer.
