Celtic Boss Brendan Rodgers Keen On Star Club Fear They Could Lose

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is a firm admirer of Caoimhin Kelleher, who Liverpool fear they could lose, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

 

Kelleher is highly rated at Anfield, but firmly behind Alisson in the pecking order and barring injury has little chance of regular game time with Liverpool.

 

Liverpool are happy with Kelleher as backup to Alisson, but fear that the Republic of Ireland international might have his heart set on leaving as he seeks to become a number 1.

 

 

 

Celtic could be a possible destination for the shot-stopper, with Rodgers a big admirer and alive to the chance of taking Kelleher to Scotland.

 

Bhoys goalkeeper Joe Hart has repeatedly come under fire for his performances and there have been calls from some for the club to bring in a new custodian.

 

 

Kelleher has turned out for Liverpool in the Europa League and EFL Cup this season, while an injury to Allison also handed him two league appearances.

 

Joining Celtic would likely give the Irishman the chance to not just play regularly, but also play in the Champions League.

 

 

Kelleher is on a deal at Anfield which is due to run through until the summer of 2026, but Liverpool have already begun looking at replacements.
