The hunk, whose real name is Matt Morsia, revealed he didn’t give contenders an easy ride.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: “I caused irreparable damage both physically and mentally.
“I think almost more psychological to be honest.
“After spending like a minute with me in the intense setting I think a lot of those people are probably never going to be the same again.”
The Surrey native continued: “All of them were most definitely scared of me.
“It’s hard for them because they obviously idolise me so it’s a combination of fear and obviously they’re all absolutely struck by how good I am.
“I empathise with them because I can’t imagine what it’s like to have to go up against me, that must be pretty wild.”
Legend also revealed how he was forced to wear special underwear for the show by BBC bosses.
He said: “I need lots of support, maybe some of the other guys not so much, but for me yeah it was really important.”
Legend joked: “You can read into that what you will…”
He added that he enjoyed wearing his blue skimpy outfit on Gladiators, which proudly showed off his impressive 40cm biceps.
Gladiators is available now on BBC iPlayer.
