The Daily Mail have revealed that sources close to Tottenham have made it clear that Timo Werner’s game time will not diminish once Son Heung-min returns from the Asian Cup.
Werner’s arrival provides Ange Postecoglou with one more quality option up front, with the Australian in need of more firepower in the absence of his captain.
The German international’s versatility would come in handy for the Lilywhites as they look to keep pace with the top teams in the Premier League and progress in the FA Cup.
The Mail have now said that they have heard from multiple sources that the new Tottenham attacker’s chances of playing regularly will not be dependent on Son’s absence.
It is revealed that Spurs believe that the 27-year-old is keen to prove himself in the Premier League following his spell at Chelsea and are hopeful that he can produce his best in a Tottenham shirt.
The publication adds that Werner believes that he can win back his place in the Germany squad for Euro 2024 if things click for him in North London.

By the sounds of it, Tottenham have signed a player who is very hungry to do well and in Postecoglou, Werner now has a manager who will instil him with confidence and allow him to express himself on the pitch.
Only time will tell if this marriage proves to be a success but there is potentially a lot of upside for Spurs in this deal with almost no downside.
