According to the print edition of Sabah (as relayed by Sport Witness), Galatasaray have decided against prematurely ending Tanguy Ndombele’s loan spell for the time being after the midfielder impressed in the club’s 3-0 win over Konyaspor last weekend.
Ndombele has struggled to get minutes since his loan switch to Galatasaray in the summer and various Turkish outlets had reported over the last couple of months that the midfielder would be sent back to Spurs mid-season.
This includes Milliyet, who reported last month that the Turkish club’s manager Okan Buruk had not been pleased with the 26-year-old’s application and his performances, and had asked for a replacement to be signed.
However, Buruk decided to hand the former Lyon man a start last Sunday against Konyaspor, with the on-loan Spurs star completing 90 minutes.
Sabah say that Ndombele impressed during the game, making ‘good use’ of the chance handed to him. Following the midfielder’s showing, Galatasaray are alleged to have put his future ‘on hold’ for the being.
The publication adds that the France international has told the Istanbul club’s management that he wants to stay in the Turkish capital.

We have seen too many false dawns with Ndombele to have any hope about this being the start of a potential turnaround. Whatever happens, one would expect Tottenham to offload the Frenchman permanently at the end of the season.
