Family of Michelle Troconis declares her innocence on first day of criminal trial
STAMFORD — Michelle Troconis’ family spoke to the media outside of Stamford Superior Court as her criminal trial got underway on Thursday.
Troconis’ father, Dr. Carlos Troconis, said that Thursday was a very important day for their family, one they have been waiting for more than four years — a time he called “a nightmare.”
“On behalf of my daughter, we know that she’s innocent,” he said.
One of Michelle Troconis’ sisters, Claudia Troconis-Marmol, said Troconis is “an amazing human being” and said she knows that justice will prevail.
“We stand together as a family because that’s what we are. We’re in unity,” Troconis-Marmol said. “We support my sister. She’s a mother, a daughter, a sister, an amazing mother and just an amazing human being. We know the truth will prevail and justice will be done because she is innocent.”
Another sister, Marisela Troconis, called the case a tragedy all around.
“This is a tragedy to all of us and also to the other family and to the children,” she said.
Michelle Troconis is facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution in connection with the disappearance of Jennifer Farber Dulos, a New Canaan mother of five, on May 24, 2019. Michelle Troconis was dating and living with Fotis Dulos, Farber Dulos’ estranged husband, in Farmington at the time of her disappearance.
