House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is apparently unhappy about being cyberbullied by Republican colleagues.
Axios reports that Johnson, in a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, demanded that House Republicans should "stop criticizing him and his budget negotiations on social media."
Johnson has been the focus of many hardline Republicans' ire in the wake of a deal that he cut with the Democratic-run Senate to fund the federal government and avert a government shutdown in an election year.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) reportedly chewed out Johnson during the meeting and demanded that the GOP-led House do more to cut spending levels.
Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH), meanwhile, openly fumed to reporters about Johnson's performance as House speaker ever since he replaced former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) last year.

"Before we could even get together, he announced the terms of the surrender," fumed Davidson, who also said of Johnson, "He should never have been hired."
Johnson was elected as speaker last year after rebellious Republicans led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) voted to oust McCarthy and then spent weeks nominating multiple failed speaker candidates before finally settling on Johnson.
Even though Johnson is more ideologically conservative than McCarthy, he has nonetheless earned the ire of many Republicans for working to avoid a shutdown of the federal government that he believes will be politically perilous for his slim congressional majority.
