To the 2024 Governors Awards, the actress wore a pair of designer black patent leather pumps.
America Ferrera, known best for her roles in “Barbie,” “Superstore” and “Ugly Betty,” arrived at the 2024 Governors Awards in Hollywood on Tuesday wearing a striking pair of jet-black pointed-toe pumps.
The simple yet elegant heel was from Italian luxury shoe designer Gianvito Rossi, who has released several styles in similar colorways and silhouettes. Although the shoe was partially hidden by Ferrera’s wide-leg pants, the pump featured an estimated four-inch heel and was made from a glossy black patent leather.
According to Gianvito Rossi, the brand designs its shoes with “three key characteristics in mind: elegance, femininity and modernity.”
The actress paired her sleek and feminine shoes with a more masculine custom tuxedo from Moschino. Ferrera’s look featured a black jacket with a grosgrain peak lapel, black straight-leg trousers, black grosgrain cummerbund and a black satin bowtie.
Keeping consistent with her minimalist aesthetic for the night, Ferrera wore a natural makeup look that emphasized her glowing skin and the shape of her dark eyebrows.
Several other celebrities have sported similar looks recently, pairing together juxtaposed pieces to create an ensemble that is both masculine and feminine.
To the 2022 Variety Hitmakers Brunch, singer and songwriter Dua Lipa wore a pair of punky platform loafers with a pinstriped paint suit. The more masculine look was offset by Lipa’s mix of heavy gold jewelry and bold makeup.
Similarly, actor Timothée Chalamet arrived at the 2022 “Bones and All” Venice Film Festival premiere wearing a pair of masculine black boots. The actor paired this choice of footwear with a soft and more feminine red halter jumpsuit from Haider Ackermann.
