A SKINCARE whizz who tried nine moisturisers in 2023 has shared her number one choice – and it’s a £6 tube you can pick up in Boots.
Jess Bassett even said her favourite moisturiser of the year was better than a highly-coveted face cream that people spend hundreds of pounds on.
Taking to TikTok, she spilled the skincare beans.
According to Jess, The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA cream is better than the Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream.
And the price difference to buy 100ml of product from each brand is a whopping £145.20 wide.
A 100ml tube of the The Ordinary moisturiser costs a cool £12,80, while two 50ml pots of Charlotte’s Magic Cream will set you back £158.
Or you can purchase a 30ml The Ordinary tube for £6.10, while a 30ml pot of Charlotte Tilbury cream costs £52.
Jess described The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA as her “personal favourite” cream as it never stings her skin when it’s sensitive.
“For me, it really is that girl,” she penned on TikTok.
“Such a creamy, luxurious texture without feeling too heavy or pore-blocking.
“It’s so moisturising and feels like it really penetrates the skin for a longer period of time rather than just drying out at surface level.”
By comparison, she urged people not to use Charlotte’s Magic Cream as an everyday moisturiser as it has “so much unnecessary fragrance and a lot of acne-prone offenders”.
“The texture feels amazing,” she said.
“However, if you’re using this for its anti-ageing effects, it will literally do nothing.
“I used to work for Charlotte Tilbury and honestly, The Ordinary or Byoma ones will still give you that luxurious thick texture – and will do just as much for your skin.”
The Ordinary bosses said that its moisturiser is designed to support the skin’s natural barrier.
