Lakes Hut 2 Hut 2024 – meet Leaders – Andy Stratford (Joint member of KMC/FRCC) and Brenda Fullard of the FRCC
2024 is the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Karabiner Mountaineering Club, a kindred club of the FRCC. This weekend is a sociable joint KMC / FRCC Hut2Hut meet with options for running / walking / scrambling / climbing – with a few route options for all possible conditions. It includes a meal, breakfast, and packed lunch the next day from the overnight hut (Rawhead), reducing the need to lug too much stuff round the hills.
The catering at Rawhead is being organised by Jo Stratford (KMC), costs will depend on numbers but likely to be around £10-£12 for dinner, breakfast and packed lunch the next day.
The meet runs Salving House (Borrowdale) to Rawhead (Langdale) on Saturday 15th June and then returns back to Salving House on Sunday 16th June.
For those who wish there can be extra nights before or after at Salving House. for those who can arrive on Thursday 13th June, Friday is a potential climbing day in Borrowdale.
Brenda will be co-ordinating a fell walking group, Andy will co-rdinate a scrambling/big boot climbing group.
