SEVERAL people have been injured after a car reportedly mounted a sidewalk and crashed in New York City.
Chaos unfolded after thousands of revelers gathered to welcome the New Year.

The annual New Year’s celebration featured performances from A-listers including Flo Rida, Megan Thee Stallion, and LL Cool J.
There were televised appearances from the likes of Cardi B.
It was expected that crowds would return to pre-pandemic sizes.
Antonio Ruz, from Spain, told Reuters he waited around 15 hours in line.
He said: “Since I was a kid, I saw on TV this is [a] spectacular show, so I had to live it.”
Nadja Sjostrom, from Sweden, said she had joined the crowds in Times Square since 8am.
She said: “This is my first time to celebrate the New Year in Times Square.”
Thousands of cops were deployed across the streets to make the city safe.
Officers were on high alert due to the heightened security fears as the conflict in Gaza rages on.
In a threat assessment obtained by ABC News affiliate WABC, officials had identified the location as an “attractive target” for a terror attack.
Analysis from agencies such as the FBI, the US Department of Homeland Security, and the New York Police Department was used to make the assessment.
Law enforcement agencies had been on a heightened alert since the October 7 attacks in Israel.
Last month, FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress: “I’ve never seen a time when all of the threats, or so many of the threats are all elevated at exactly the same time.”
