This Morning host sparks concern with hospital bed snap as she reveals she’s had surgery on TWO bone tumours
THIS Morning presenter Holly Jay-Smith has undergone surgery for two tumours on her leg.
The well-loved Coupon Queen, who often hosts money-saving segments on the daytime TV show, shared a picture of herself in hospital – revealing she has been in bed for months in agony.
Holly’s lower tibia had to be completely reconstructed due to the tumours and it could take some time before she can walk again.
She told her followers: “I wanted to post this now as I’m ready to put 2023 behind me. A few months ago I found out I had two bone tumours in my left leg which had caused major destruction in my lower tibia.
“It was months of bed rest, tests and pain before I could have surgery. (I wasn’t in a good place so I decided to come off social media).
“Less than 2 weeks ago I had surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham (where surgeons reconstructed my tibia with metal work and donor bone).
“I’m not going to lie, the pain is bad and walking might be an issue for a while but I want to get back to what I love (saving money!) So here’s to 2024 and lots of trips to Birmingham (but on the bright side I hear they have a good Primark!) ”
Holly’s fans inundated her with support, with one person writing: “Get well very soon. Sending much love xx.”
A second said: “So sorry to hear you have had such a tough time. Sending you good wishes for your recovery x (and Birmingham Primark is epic!!)”
While a third added: “Awwww was wondering why you hadn’t been about. So sorry to hear this. Speedy recovery & all the best for 2024 gif you & your family.”
Mum-of-four Holly was appearing on This Morning once a week giving her best round-ups, helping viewers save money.
Holly, who is autistic, hit headlines back in 2015 when she used coupons to buy a £1, 200 shop at Tesco.
