IT’S that time of year when curbs are covered in dead Christmas trees and decorations are going back into storage.
However, one woman is getting her money’s worth out of her artificial tree by keeping it up year-round.
The decor enthusiast switched out her Christmas ornaments for Valentine’s themed decorations[/caption]In her video, Emily McInnis (@wreathsbywaldo) showed her followers how she keeps the festive spirit for 365 days of the year.
“If you’re seeing this do not put away the Christmas tree,” she told her audience.
The Instagrammer regularly posts her home decor tips for different holidays.
“For me, a tree is a blank canvas, you can express yourself in so many ways by decorating a tree year-round, it’s not just for Christmas,” she explained.
Emily gave viewers a few examples of how she revamps her Christmas tree throughout the year.
First, she removed the Christmas decorations and replaced them with large plush love hearts and matching bows for Valentine’s Day.
Emily also dressed for the occasion, donning a love heart headband and a matching apron skirt.
After the romantic holiday, she showed her audience her Easter-themed tree.
The decor fanatic added large carrots and Easter bunnies throughout the branches.
She could also be seen wearing a sweater that matched the theme of her tree.
For St. Patrick’s Day, Emily added large shamrocks and green checked bows to both her outfit and the tree.
Finally, for fall and the Thanksgiving season, she placed pumpkins and decorative twigs in the tree.
She matched the gingham print bows on the tree to her pinafore dress.
Instagram users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the unique concept.
“Too much, put the tree away,” said one unimpressed follower.
“No, a Christmas tree is a Christmas tree! This takes the joy out of putting your tree up at Christmas time!” wrote another viewer.
“I don’t know, my live tree is going to be looking real rough by Easter,” joked a third person.
